The Plettenberg, a 5 star Relais & Chateaux Hotel built on a rocky headland with breathtaking vistas of the sea, mountains and miles of golden sand in one of the most spectacular resorts in Africa - Plettenberg Bay. Our 38 luxury rooms and suites are all air-conditioned and offer a truly idyllic and indulgent experience. We have two swimming pools, one of which is heated, and both visually flow into the ocean below. Experience fabulous sightings of dolphins and whales in the bay from the hotel terraces. Overlooking one of the world's most beautiful bays, this African contemporary house enjoys a view of magical sunrises, whales breaching in the winter months, and pods of dolphins rejoicing the whole year round.
Gentle sandy and ocean colours filter through the house with a mix of textures and lighting that creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere. A mix of dark stained floors and sisal carpeting are throughout the house. The main bedroom boasts an incredible view and leads out onto the deck and private pool. Sheers and heavy curtains play on the windows giving a romantic feel to this bedroom.
The open plan lounge and dining room are on a split level. From here you can enjoy beautiful ocean views. The galley kitchen is well stocked and beautifully designed. The house is equipped with flat screen televisions, DVD players, air-conditioning and every other mod con one could imagine.
Spa
The Carchele Spa at The Plettenberg recently hosted a re-launch function to introduce their renovated house of healthy delights to their clients. The welcoming new spa interior, complete with an additional twin treatment room, isn't the only fresh offering on the agenda!
In addition to the top of the range Decleor facial products, the spa now stocks a product range called "OPI", giving your hands and feet a facial experience and "Acadayspa", for complete body care, detox, relaxation and slimming.
Boutique
The Collection Boutique has recently undergone a huge facelift and boasts a new modern and stylish look. Offering an extensive range of gifts ranging from the new "Polo" clothing range, local craft items, national curios and a wide selection of fine jewellery, including that of Charles Greig, be sure to pop in and enjoy a refreshing shopping experience! The only problem that you might face is getting all of your shopping bags home! Don't worry, your gifts can be packaged and posted both nationally and internationally.
